I remained there for many days,
Clutching onto hope, near the Sheep gate.
I heard this could heal my pain
Change my world,
Make me feel complete again.
So with nothing and everything on one mat,
I lied down and intently stared at the pool.
Longing and aching to receive my miracle,
As soon as the mysterious waters move.
I gave it many of my days
Perhaps,today is not my day.
If the moon can shine so bright,
Surely it can light up my dark.
If the crystals have such abundant light,
Surely it can throw clarity to life.
If the stones and the wood are so strong,
Then surely, can they be one’s protection.
I gave them many of my days
Perhaps,today is not my day.
So I let the days drudge in the wait,
Until the day He walked up to me and said,
“Shalom, do you want to get well?”
My eyes on the pool,I gave an account
Of the challenges and attempts plentiful.
But he had no bother about the water
Calmly he waited, for me to give my answer .
So, a pause I took, to seek His face-
I saw eyes that had love which could lift the veil
His word had power to heal all my pain.
I had wasted many of my days
Now because of Him, today is my day.
This is the day that the Lord has made,
I will rejoice and be glad in it.
