COMING,READY OR NOT

THE DISCIPLES OF THE EARLY CHURCH, WAITED IN ANTICIPATION IN THE UPPER ROOM.

God has repeatedly made it know to His Church, the bride of Christ, that He is going to come down and move by His power in the church as never been done before.

ARE YOU READY?

When the Hebrew nation was enslaved in Egypt the first 3 plagues came on everyone (refer to Exodus 7:19 to 8). The following plagues, a distinction was made between the Hebrews and Egyptians, Exodus 8:22. 9:4.

You may wonder why the Lord allowed this. I believe that some of the Hebrew families had defiled themselves by falling into the sinful ways of the Egyptians - the reference to the Flesh pots of Egypt, (Exodus 16:3 indicates this). Israel had to see their God and repent, get their lives in order. They had to stand before Him, this can only be done in purity.

Our God is pouring out His Spirit again on His Church, our lives are to be spotless, sacrificed and laid down for His purpose alone. God has graciously provided a window of opportunity for the Church to “clean up and clean out” drawing the Church to Himself, providing a loving, gentle hand to cleanse and purify us.

The Holy Spirit is about to be poured out again as spoken of Joel.

• Joel 2:23-24

“For He has given you the former rain faithfully and He will cause the rain to come down for you—The former rain and the latter rain in the first month.

(24) The threshing floors shall be full of wheat and the vats shall overflow with new wine & oil.”

This out pouring is coming whether we are ready or not. Our loving Father really wants us to be ready.

Have you ever seen pure gold, drawn from the furnace, and being poured out of a red-hot crucible into the ingot moulds? What do you think would happen if the ingot mould was made of plastic or polystyrene?

The integrity of the vessel is being tested in this time we are in right now.

If the mould has an invisible hairline crack, it would surely split open under such intense heat.

The true riches of immeasurable value are about to be poured out…are we vessels that are able and ready to carry this outpouring?

Perhaps you have felt really hammered and pummelled by what is going on in your life, around the world and in your church over the past 2 years. Is God perhaps preparing you for something new?

Holy Spirit is a living being, part of the God head, to describe Him is a real challenge.However,He is like a fizzy cool drink - effervescent, living and moving.

Are we too stuck in our ridged way of ‘doing church’ to embrace this new move of God?

• Matthew 9:17

…Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins

Hard old leather is going to struggle to be a suitable vessel for this out pouring. God has without doubt been dealing with our lives getting us ready for what He is starting to do.

What is required of us?

Like a tanner prepares a skin by cleaning, washing, scraping, oiling, and softening; like a sword smith prepares a blade by hammering, grinding, polishing & tempering; like a glass blower carefully crafts a new vessel, without crack or blemish; so, our Lord is preparing us - His Church- to be vessels of honour to His great name, to carry what He has for the world and this end time revival.

• It is up to us - the Church – to lay down our old lives, our old way of doing Church. Put it on the altar as “a holy, living sacrifice” Romans 12:1. We exist to exalt His great name, for His honour.

• Walk in continual repentance, letting go of everything, every way of life that may seem normal in society, yet it is defilement and contamination before our God.

• Seek Him, submit our lives; open our hearts for complete restoration and healing of any brokenness, hurts and hidden cracks.

• Seek the face of God as never before, trusting that He will prepare us as vessels to carry what He has, for His honour and glory alone.
